Let us face it, web templates are major determining factors when it comes to the amount of traffic that your website will create at any one time. Well-created templates will get more people visiting your website and promoting whatever it is that you have to offer. Conversely, shoddy templates that have little or no appeal will achieve just the opposite: leave your site with no visitor. That is not what you would want, is it?

One factor to consider when creating web templates is uniformity. To create good templates, ensure that the style that you use for writing the templates is clear, uniform and logical. Most end users want to feel more enlightened after reviewing your templates. Uniformity should also apply to the general outlook of the templates. The templates should be pleasing to the eyes, as this will also help attract visitors to the site giving you repeat traffic.

Remember to incorporate clean and simple contents to the sites when creating web templates. It would be ideal to include as few images and graphics as possible to the templates. Templates that are loaded with too many graphics make loading very difficult for the end users. This would result in them giving up on their attempts to load your web pages. You should select the colors that you chose to include in the templates carefully and sparingly.

Thirdly, consider the codes and formats that you shall be using when creating templates. You can choose from two main formats and codes: HTML and CSS. HTML, acronym for Hypertext Markup language, is the most commonly used markup language for web pages.  It allows web browsers to compose text and images into either audible or visual web pages.  On the other hand, CSS, acronym for Cascading Style Sheets is a language used mainly for styling web pages coded in either XHTML or HTML.

When seeking to create web templates, it is advisable to use the Cascading Style Sheet format. This is because this type of format usually has fewer codes, which in turn reduces the file sizes. In addition, CSS enables improvement of content accessibility while at the same time making it possible for the markup page to be presented in various styles and rendering methods such as in print, voice or on-screen.
